Protecting the Central Cascades Wilderness
Three Sisters, Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Washington, & Diamond Peak
More and more people, like us, are drawn to the call of the Wilderness. Yet this growing enthusiasm brings challenges—trash, new social trails, and abandoned dog waste—all eroding the natural character of Wilderness and the experience it offers. These outdoor spaces are our collective responsibility, but with federal funding for land management shrinking and nonprofits stretched to fill the gaps, Wilderness is degrading. We’re here to ensure its wild character endures.

How Our Projects Make an Impact

Trail-Sign Replacement
We replace worn-out or damaged signage to keep Wilderness boundaries and trails clearly marked for hikers and backcountry visitors. This helps protect fragile environments from off-trail impacts while preserving the Wilderness experience.

Campsite Restoration
Campsite restoration focuses on rehabilitating degraded or overused sites to restore natural conditions. This helps prevent campsite expansion and preserves the area’s natural appearance.

Social-Trail Closures
We close unauthorized trails to minimize ecological impact and protect delicate habitats.

Light Trail Maintenance
Light trail work helps maintain safe and sustainable hiking routes by clearing small debris, trimming overgrown vegetation, and restoring trail width to regulation standards.
